Islamabad, Feb 5: Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, conducted an extensive visit to the Jinnah Avenue Interchange project on Wednesday to assess the progress of ongoing construction activities. Accompanied by senior officials, the Chairman reviewed key aspects of the project, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Islamabad.

During the visit, Randhawa inspected the under-construction flyover bridge, surrounding road infrastructure, and other developments that are part of the project. The team provided updates on various aspects of the construction, including the ongoing horticulture work, installation of electric poles, and the placement of the Pakistani flag. Officials confirmed that construction is progressing rapidly and according to the planned timeline, with work being conducted round-the-clock to ensure timely completion.

Randhawa was informed that asphalt work on the roads around the Jinnah Avenue Interchange is moving swiftly, and the construction of a protected U-turn at the nearby 9th Avenue is advancing at a quick pace. The F-8 intersection, a vital part of the project, is also seeing significant development on all four sides, with road infrastructure work ongoing. Furthermore, officials assured the Chairman that the F-10 Roundabout project is near completion and will be opened for traffic by the end of this month.

Emphasizing the importance of aesthetics and cleanliness, Chairman Randhawa instructed officials to expedite landscaping and horticultural works to enhance the visual appeal of the interchange. He also highlighted the need for consultants and resident engineers to uphold the highest standards of construction while adhering to the project timeline.

In his remarks, Randhawa stressed that the timely completion of the Jinnah Avenue Interchange is critical to resolving Islamabad’s long-standing traffic issues. The interchange is expected to provide signal-free travel, significantly improving the daily commute for residents and visitors.

The CDA Chairman reiterated the authority’s commitment to delivering infrastructure projects that meet international standards and serve the growing needs of Islamabad’s population. Once completed, the Jinnah Avenue Interchange will play a pivotal role in modernizing the city’s road network, reducing travel time, and improving the overall commuting experience.
