Acknowledging the urgency of the matter, Senior Minister Aurangzeb affirmed the formulation of a robust smog legislation plan. Emphasizing a coordinated effort across all departments, she underscored the government’s commitment to confronting environmental challenges head-on.
Recognizing the detrimental impact of single-use plastic bags on the ecosystem, it was decided that a phased ban on such bags would commence from June 6. Furthermore, proactive measures to combat both pre-smog conditions and seasonal smog have already been set in motion, bolstered by well-defined action plans.
In a significant move toward legislative enhancement, efforts are underway to refine existing laws pertaining to environmental preservation and smog control. Senior Minister Aurangzeb also highlighted the launch of a groundbreaking initiative titled “Plant for Pakistan” by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
