Islamabad, Sep 12: At the end of the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai, the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) and the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) inked a memorandum of cooperation, marking a new chapter in high-level Sino-Pak leather industry partnership.
CLIA has never before inked a contract with its colleagues in Pakistan. According to China Economic Net, the two parties will deepen their relationship, exchange trade delegations, promote enterprise cooperation, and take part in leather industry expos.
Being Pakistan’s largest source of foreign exchange earnings, the leather sector is vital to the nation’s economy. It is often acknowledged that Pakistan and China complement each other in the leather sector.
Modern Chinese technologies can be leveraged to enhance Pakistan’s leather processing and product quality through cooperation with China, such as the creation of joint ventures. Pakistan offers distinct benefits such as an abundance of raw resources and low labor costs.
In the leather business, China and Pakistan have been interacting more and more recently. The China-Pakistan Footwear Industry Expo and B2B Meeting took place in Lahore in August. In order to investigate potential future partnership opportunities, a Chinese group visited Pakistan during the same period. The delegation was made up of representatives from the Guangdong Footwear Materials Industry Association and the Association of Guangdong Shoes Manufacturers.
