Islamabad, 21 Apr, 2025: China Warns Countries against forming broader economic pacts with the United States if it results in disadvantages to Beijing, intensifying its stance amid an escalating trade standoff between the globe’s two leading economies.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce emphasized on Monday that while Beijing respects sovereign decisions to settle trade or commercial issues with Washington through fair and equal dialogue, it will firmly oppose any agreement made that compromises China’s economic interests.

If such agreements are made at the cost of China’s market or trade partnerships, Beijing vows to respond assertively and proportionately, a ministry representative stated.

China maintains that it has both the resilience and the resources to protect its economic sovereignty and remains committed to enhancing cooperation with other global partners.

The administration reiterated its readiness to work collaboratively with countries that value mutual respect and equitable trade.
