Islamabad, Oct 13: Chinese Premier Li to Arrive in Islamabad Monday for Crucial Four-Day Visit. From October 14–17, 2024, Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang is expected to make a four-day bilateral visit to Pakistan in order to meet with the country’s military and civil society leaders and take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of the Heads of Government meeting.

According to a curtain raiser released by the Foreign Office on Sunday, Chinese Premier Li will be accompanied by ministers and senior officials, including those from the ministries of foreign affairs and commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

Leading their respective delegations, Premiers Li Qiang and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will conduct a thorough discussion of all facets of Pakistan-China relations, including trade and economic connections as well as cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Global and regional developments will also be discussed by the two parties.

The Chinese premier will meet with Pakistan’s top military officials and parliamentary leaders in addition to paying a visit to President Asif Ali Zardari. Additionally, on October 15–16 in Islamabad, he will be present in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Government Meeting.

A sign of the significance Pakistan and China place on their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” is Chinese Premier Li’s visit to Islamabad. It will be an opportunity to further the high-quality development of CPEC, strengthen regular discussions on significant regional and global trends, and reiterate mutual support on matters of fundamental interest.
