Islamabad, Oct 27: Chinese University Honors Pakistani Scientist by Naming Research Center After Them. The renowned Pakistani scientist Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary is the namesake of the recently opened research building at Hunan University of Medicine (HNUM) in China.According to a press release, it was revealed at a function hosted by the reputable Chinese university Hunan University of Medicine (HNUM).

According to a news release, this ground-breaking 13,000-square-foot building will accommodate 17 full-time researchers committed to furthering scientific cooperation between China and Pakistan. HNUM, one of China’s top national public medical colleges, was founded in 1912 by famous medical educator Mr. Yan Fuqing.

It now includes two campuses, Jinxi and Jinhai, totaling 945,300 square meters, and is run under the direction of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. 20 comprehensive undergraduate and graduate medical programs are offered by HNUM, which has a committed staff of 4,642 and 14,425 full-time students.

This is the first time a Pakistani scientist has been honored in this way at HNUM, and the naming of the new research building in Prof. Choudhary’s honor represents a historic milestone. Collaboration between Chinese and Pakistani scientists has been greatly aided by Prof. Choudhary’s contributions to a variety of scientific endeavors, especially his crucial involvement in the establishment of Sino-Pak research centers.

Prof. Choudhary is a well-known member of the scientific community and has received many honors, such as the Golden Silkball Friendship Award, the Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, the Friendship Award from China (2022), and the Civil Awards (Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz).

He is a Fellow of several prestigious scientific associations, such as the Royal Society of Chemistry (London) and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), and he is the Vice President of TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences) for Central & South Asia.The construction of this institution is an important step toward enhancing scientific research cooperation between China and Pakistan.
