Islamabad, Oct 21: CM Maryam Approves 3 New Authorities in Punjab

To supervise horticulture, local development, and sanitation in the province, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the creation of three provincial authorities.

The Punjab Development Authority, Punjab Water & Sanitation Authority, and Punjab Horticulture Authority were established at a special meeting on Sunday. Later on, legislation to formally establish these entities will be introduced.

While local organizations will be in charge of carrying out the plans pertaining to development, water and sanitation, and horticulture, these provincial bodies will be in charge of creating policies and strategies at the federal level.

The ideas for naming managing directors and governing boards at the municipal level, as well as for creating director generals and governing boards for the new authorities, were also discussed at the conference.

The CM Maryam gave the order to switch streetlights over to solar electricity right now.

The conference was attended by senior officials, the chief secretary, the principal secretary to the chief minister, and provincial ministers Zeeshan Rafique and Bilal Yasin. Through a video link, the secretaries of housing and local government took part.
