Islamabad, Jan 17: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially inaugurated the Honhaar Scholarship and CM Laptop Schemes at a prestigious ceremony held at Government College University Faisalabad. These groundbreaking initiatives aim to support and empower students across Punjab, ensuring access to quality education and modern resources.

Under the Honhaar Scholarship Programme, financial aid worth Faisalabad division distributed 201.19 million to 4,690 students.

This program helps students from public and private universities and colleges.

Breaking down the allocations, 3,211 students from public universities received scholarships totaling Rs. 176.27 million, while 101 students from private universities were awarded Rs. 2.8 million. Additionally, 1,378 students from public colleges benefited from scholarships amounting to Rs. 22 million.

Prominent educational institutions receiving support include Government College University Faisalabad, University of Agriculture, Government College Women University, University of Jhang, and Faisalabad Medical University. This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and supporting students from diverse educational backgrounds.

Although, The CM Laptop Scheme launched with scholarships, providing the latest laptops to deserving students.

However, The scheme, targeting 40,000 students across Punjab, aims to provide advanced learning tools to enhance academic efficiency and bridge the digital divide. Addressing the audience, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to rewarding hard work, announcing that students scoring above 65% will receive laptops to support their educational journey.

During the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of investing in education as a means of building a prosperous and progressive Punjab. “These programs symbolize our government’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the potential of our youth and equipping them with the tools they need to excel,” she stated.

However, The event concluded on a high note, with students expressing gratitude for the government’s initiatives that prioritize education and skill development.
