Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has prohibited single-use plastic water bottles in all government buildings, beginning at the CM House, marking a major step toward environmental responsibility. According to the CM, this program, which aims to promote sustainability and reduce plastic waste, was put into action right away after being notified on August 16.
ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 19: Shah gave his staff the order to switch out all plastic water bottles at meetings at the CM House with glass jugs in order to further this aim. This change was seen on camera on Sunday, when glass jugs and tumblers were placed on conference tables, highlighting the government’s resolve to cut down on plastic waste. The CM emphasized the significance of this shift during a meeting and encouraged attendees to do the same by getting rid of plastic bottles and other throwaway plastic products from their workplaces and public areas.
Shah promoted the use of environmentally friendly and better public health-promoting substitutes, such as glass and biodegradable materials. “Our environment is being polluted and marine life is being harmed by plastic waste that is clogging our drains, rivers, ponds, and seas,” stated Shah. “As a country, we need to adopt eco-friendly behaviors to protect our natural resources and ensure a healthier, cleaner future.” As part of his administration’s commitment to complete ecological reform, the CM announced plans to address air pollution throughout the province and promised more efforts to tackle environmental degradation in addition to the ban on plastic bottles.
