Islamabad, Jan 19: A new wave of cold weather is set to grip Karachi and other districts of Sindh starting January 24, with temperatures likely to drop significantly. Weather forecasts indicate that cold westerly winds will sweep across the region, bringing a chill to the air.

According to meteorological reports, Balochistan and other parts of the country may also experience rainfall, while snowfall is predicted in mountainous areas, adding a frosty touch to the winter season. These westerly winds are expected to maintain the cold and frosty conditions until January 23.

The Met Office has forecast moderate rainfall and Karachi Cold Wave in several districts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Jacobabad, and Larkana, between January 21 and 23. This rainfall will provide much-needed moisture to the dry winter air. Karachi, meanwhile, is expected to witness strong winds blowing at a speed of 25 to 35 kilometers per hour on Saturday, further intensifying the cold weather.

Most parts of Sindh will remain cold and dry, with nighttime and early morning hours bringing moderate to dense fog. Key areas like Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Dadu, Larkana, Khairpur, Tando Jam, and their surroundings are likely to be shrouded in fog, reducing visibility during these hours.

Residents are advised to prepare for the colder days ahead and exercise caution during foggy conditions to ensure safety on the roads. Stay updated with the latest weather advisories as the region braces for a chilly and potentially rainy spell.
