Abdul Aleem Khan, the Federal Minister for Privatization, announced on Friday that the Privatization Commission has received Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from nine major business groups for the privatization of PIA, as the deadline for submission of EOIs ended today.
According to a statement from the Press Information Department, the minister stated that these EOIs have been submitted by various business groups, including individuals and consortiums. Now, the Privatization Commission will initiate the pre-qualification process following the rules and regulations outlined in the PC Ordinance 2000.
Khan mentioned that among the entities that have submitted offers are Fly Jinnah, Air Blue Limited, Habib Corporation, Sardar Mohammad Ashraf D. Baluch (Pvt.) Additionally, there are consortiums led by Younas Brothers Holdings (Private), Pak Ethanol, and Blue World City that have also expressed their interest.
The minister further stated that these institutions have complied with the submission requirements within the specified timeframe. The Privatization Commission will now invite eligible parties for the next stage of the bidding process.
