Islamabad, Aug 26: In order to guarantee the digital safety and security of users throughout Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has started a cybersecurity audit of telecom operators. PTA sources state that PTA will take final consideration to ensure that competent companies of international standard meet all technical aspects of cybersecurity audit.

PTA will then review the final audit to ensure that cybersecurity measures meet international standards. The audit will determine whether telecom operators have installed firewalls and whether they have implemented cybersecurity frameworks.

Telecommunication companies would be closely examined to make sure that private and sensitive data are safe and won’t leak.

Security clearances for telecom operators’ employees are required before handling sensitive data.
PTA will present its results once the security audit was completed.

It is important to remember that the National Cyber Emergency Response issued advisories to NGOs, government agencies, and organizations about cybersecurity dangers and how to secure digital infrastructure.
