Islamabad, Aug 31: Chief Meteorologist Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz stated on Saturday that the cyclone has shifted further away from the coast of Sindh and is currently located in the northeast of the Arabian Sea, 230 kilometers to the west of Karachi.
Speaking to a private news station, the chief meteorologist issued a warning over the possibility of thunderstorms and severe rainfall as a result of Cyclone Asna in a number of Sindh districts, including Karachi, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Matiari, and Jamshoro.He underlined that the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) is keeping a close eye on the situation and encourages locals to take the appropriate safety measures.
Dr. Sarfaraz emphasized the significance of being ready and vigilant in the event of potentially severe weather conditions, highlighting the potential effects of the cyclone on Sindh’s weather.It is anticipated that the coastal regions of Hub, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, and Gwadar in Balochistan would see comparable weather until September 1.Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz issued a warning, saying that even if Cyclone Asna is headed toward Oman, Pakistan will still be severely affected.
He underlined that as heavy rain is expected in the area, Balochistan in particular should be prepared for more dire outcomes than Sindh. Balochistani citizens should be ready for severe weather, including prolonged downpours and possible flooding, according to this warning. The knowledge of Dr. Sarfaraz emphasizes the significance of being alert and ready throughout the nation, even as the center of the storm moves closer to Oman.
