Islamabad, Mar 29, 2025: In a significant move to boost Pakistan’s mining sector, Danish company FLSmidth is set to launch a training program for 100 Pakistani engineers at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum scheduled for April 8-9.
Pakistan-Denmark Cooperation in Mining & Energy
A statement issued after a meeting between Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and Danish Ambassador Jakob Linulf highlighted bilateral cooperation in energy and mineral development.
The meeting, held at the Petroleum Division, focused on utilizing Danish company expertise to modernize Pakistan’s extractive industries through technological collaboration.

FLSmidth’s Role in Pakistan’s Mining Modernization
FLSmidth, a global leader in sustainable mining technology, specializes in cement production, mineral processing, and decarbonization.
The company’s expertise aligns with Pakistan’s goals of enhancing efficiency while reducing environmental impact in mining operations.
The training program, known as the Bradshaw Research Initiative for Minerals and Mining (BRIMM), aims to equip Pakistani engineers with advanced technical skills to improve mining operations and foster sustainable resource extraction.
Government Support for Foreign Investment
Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to attracting foreign investment in the mining sector, ensuring full government support for Danish company investments and technological partnerships.
Ambassador Jakob Linulf also expressed Denmark’s support for Pakistan’s industrial growth and energy transition, emphasizing that FLSmidth has already established five partnership agreements in Pakistan’s mineral sector.
Denmark’s Expanding Investment in Pakistan
Beyond mining, the statement also revealed that Danish shipping giant Maersk has pledged a $2 billion investment in Pakistan’s deep-sea port infrastructure.
The investment will focus on ship recycling and ship refueling with green ammonia, further strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and Denmark.

Both sides committed to enhancing engagement between Pakistani stakeholders and Danish technology providers, positioning FLSmidth as a key player in modernizing Pakistan’s mining industry.
