Islamabad, Mar 10 2025: Kojima Productions has officially announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
The long-awaited sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding was unveiled at SXSW 2025, where fans were treated to an in-depth 10-minute trailer, offering the most detailed look yet at the game’s world, story, and characters.
New Trailer Showcases Expansive Storyline
The latest trailer reveals that Death Stranding 2 takes place 11 months after the establishment of the United Cities of America (UCA).
It revisits familiar characters while introducing new faces, environments, and deeper narrative elements, promising an even more ambitious experience than its predecessor.
The gameplay footage teases expanded mechanics, including new traversal methods, weaponry, and an eerie yet breathtaking landscape, emphasizing Kojima’s signature themes of connection, isolation, and rebuilding society in a fractured world.

Returning Cast and Expanding the Universe

Troy Baker (Higgs), and Léa Seydoux (Fragile). The trio discussed the evolution of their characters and how the sequel builds upon the original’s complex themes and world-building.
While much of the story remains shrouded in mystery, the trailer hints at a darker, more intense narrative, suggesting that Sam’s journey is far from over.
