Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar convened with Chinese Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang in Beijing today, accompanied by senior officials from both sides.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister conveyed condolences and condemnation for the Shangla attack on March 26, 2024, ensuring a steadfast commitment to bring the perpetrators to justice. They also praised the contributions of the fallen Chinese workers.
The two leaders engaged in extensive discussions regarding various facets of bilateral relations, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase-II, trade, economic collaboration, and investment. They deliberated on enhancing connectivity through the Khunjerab border crossing and simplifying visa procedures. Both parties agreed to uphold the flourishing Pakistan-China partnership across all spheres of cooperation and fortify their enduring friendship.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar acknowledged the advancements made by CPEC in energy and infrastructure and expressed optimism about the promising outcomes expected in Phase-II, particularly in industries, agriculture, and mineral development.
Vice Premier Ding reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan across all areas of cooperation, emphasizing the significance of expediting CPEC projects for mutual prosperity and development.
