Islamabad, Oct 4: Differently-Abled Individuals to Avail Free Public Transport Under Himmat Card. The Himmat Card program, which is intended to assist people with disabilities in Punjab, was officially launched on Thursday, according to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Through the scheme, they will be allowed to use the metro buses in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan as well as the Orange Line for free.
The chief minister announced at the opening event that about 65,000 individuals with disabilities will get financial support of Rs. 10,500 every three months. She personally distributed Himmat Cards to a number of beneficiaries as a mark of the program’s dedication.
She accused the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leadership of inciting instability in the nation during her address and condemned them for it. She declared that people who encourage turmoil and block positive growth are “mentally paralyzed.”
Disturbances and instability make it more difficult to provide people with basic services. She declared, “Those who bring suffering to our country are a burden on our people,” and she urged the PTI leadership to put more effort into enhancing the welfare of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) rather than inciting unrest in other areas.
Ms. Nawaz further emphasized that those instigating turmoil in Punjab are fundamentally hurting their own population by pointing out that many KP residents are involved in commerce throughout the province. Where KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was scheduled to spearhead a protest in favor of the PTI’s demands for Imran Khan’s release, judicial independence, and inflation control.
The chief minister stressed her administration’s commitment to addressing inflation, enhancing infrastructure, and upholding cleanliness while contrasting her policies with PTI. She said that she routinely oversees cleanliness operations and keeps an eye on the costs of necessities. She also brought up the rising cost of bread in KP, which is now Rs. 25, highlighting the province’s lack of care for the problem. Ms. Nawaz signed off by adding, “My heart beats for the people of KP and other provinces as well,” expressing her concern.
