Islamabad, Oct 25: DPM Dar Engages with Rwandan and Bangladeshi Counterparts to Discuss Trade and Investment Cooperation. On the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) held here on Friday, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, met with Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the country’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister.
Foreign Minister Nduhungirehe and DPM Dar praised the improving trend of Pakistan-Rawanda relations founded on respect for one another and common ideals. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and involvement in the economic sphere, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and people-to-people interactions.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar noted that Pakistan is eager to further its cordial ties with Rwanda, citing the recent visits of the Senate President and Rawanda’s Chief of Defense Staff. Additionally, he commended Rwanda for establishing a High Commission in Islamabad.
Foreign Minister Nduhungirehe echoed the Deputy Prime Minister Dar’s remarks by urging Pakistani entrepreneurs to take advantage of Rwanda’s economic prospects. In the meantime, Md. Touhid Hossain, Bangladesh’s adviser for foreign affairs, met bilaterally with Deputy Prime Minister Dar. After assuming their positions, the two dignitaries met for the first time.
The historical, religious, and cultural ties between the two nations were emphasized by the deputy prime minister. Foreign Minister Hossain and Deputy Prime Minister Dar decided to promote high-level communication and collaboration between Bangladesh and Pakistan, especially in the fields of people-to-people interactions, trade, and cultural exchanges.
Strengthening cooperation at numerous multilateral fora was agreed upon by both parties. Reviving the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was another topic they covered.
