Islamabad, Dec 13: The cabinet committee to guarantee fertilizer price stability was convened on Friday by Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister.
The conference was attended by Petroleum, Industry, and Commerce Secretaries as well as Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance. Gas company executives were also there.
The committee looked at fertilizer costs, stock levels, and market availability.
They noted that fertilizer prices are steady and that there are sufficient supplies available.
After reviewing the gas supply for the fertilizer sector, the committee concluded that it was adequate. The foreign minister ordered the fertilizer business to have a steady supply of gas during the Rabi cropping season in order to maintain fertilizer inventories and production.
