Islamabad, Apr 25, 2025: Dubai has introduced a new Public Health Law to safeguard both residents and visitors from contagious diseases.

The new legislation, Law No. (5) of 2025 on Public Health, was enacted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.

Under this law, all travelers must promptly inform authorities if they suspect or confirm having a contagious illness.

The law also emphasizes the importance of hygiene measures such as wearing masks and practicing social distancing, particularly when unwell.

Individuals who are infected or suspected of carrying communicable diseases are obligated to limit their interactions with others and avoid travel unless authorized by the Dubai Health Authority for medical purposes.

Deliberately concealing infections or intentionally spreading diseases is forbidden by the new regulations.

Additionally, the law mandates collaboration between Dubai’s health and environmental agencies to ensure public safety.
