Islamabad, Nov 27: ECC Highlights Concerns Over Delays in Decision Implementation. Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the federal minister of finance, presided over a special session of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Wednesday at the Finance Division.
The meeting examined the state of implementation of several previous ECC policy decisions about finance, the interior, industries and production, interprovincial coordination, housing and works, food security and research, power, and the regulation and coordination of national health services.
Following a briefing on the general state of implementation of its previous rulings, the ECC heard separate presentations from the pertinent ministries outlining the current state of the matters still pending with them as well as the actions necessary to resolve them.
In order to guarantee timely compliance and completion of the tasks and responsibilities assigned to them for the implementation of the ECC’s decisions, the ECC expressed concern about the delays in the implementation of its decisions and instructed the concerned ministries to enhance their coordination and work proactively with stakeholder ministries and divisions through an appropriate escalation mechanism.
Federal secretaries and senior officials from relevant ministries and departments attended the meeting, along with Ministers for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, and Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Pervaiz Malik (virtual).
