Islamabad, Apr 6, 2025: Eidul Adha, one of the most eagerly awaited celebrations in Pakistan, particularly for children, is predicted to take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, based on early forecasts.

The official date, however, will be confirmed by the nation’s moon sighting committee, which follows the customary Ruet-e-Hilal procedure.

In the UAE, astronomers have also predicted that the crescent moon marking the start of Dhul Hijjah will be visible on the evening of May 27, 2025, according to the Emirates Astronomy Society.

Based on these calculations, Zilhajj is expected to begin on May 28, which would make Eidul Adha fall on Friday, June 6, 2025, in the Emirates.

It’s important to recognize that these predictions provide a general timeframe, as the actual dates can differ between countries due to geographical variations in moon visibility.

Eidul Adha is one of Islam’s two major festivals, commemorating the steadfast faith of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who was ready to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.

The main ritual of this occasion is Qurbani (sacrifice), where Muslims slaughter livestock such as cows, goats, sheep, or camels in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

The meat is then distributed among family, friends, and those in need, emphasizing the values of generosity and compassion that are at the heart of the festival.
