Islamabad, Oct 2: Excise Fines Tinted Cars and Unregistered Vehicles in Islamabad
The Excise Department in Islamabad has launched a strict campaign against unregistered vehicles, non-standard number plates, and those with tinted windows.
Fines Tinted Cars fitted with flashlights or police lights are also being closely monitored. Stringent penalties are being imposed, with hefty fines for violators, irrespective of the vehicle’s origin.
According to the Excise Department, vehicles with engine capacities up to 1,000 cc will incur fines of Rs. 5,000, while those between 1,000 cc and 2,000 cc will face fines of Rs. 10,000. Vehicles exceeding 2,000 cc will be fined up to Rs. 20,000.
Bilal Azam, the Director of Excise, stated that the enforcement of these regulations will not be influenced by any external pressures or recommendations, and vehicle registration will remain suspended until all fines are paid.
Additionally, a notification from the Chief Commissioner indicates that repeat offenders will face fines increased by five times.
Similar enforcement measures are also being implemented in other cities, such as Quetta and Peshawar, targeting vehicles with tinted windows to ensure legal compliance.
Director Excise Bilal Azam stated that no pressure will be accepted, and the registration of vehicles will be canceled until the fines are paid.
Director Excise Bilal Azam further stated that according to the Chief Commissioner’s notification, if the law is violated a second time, the fine will increase fivefold.
