Islamabad, Dec 18: Faysal Bank Limited (FBL), one of Pakistan’s prominent Islamic banks, has launched the “Faysal Islami Remittance Agahi Programme,” a nationwide roadshow designed to raise awareness about legal remittance channels. This initiative, organized in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan’s Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI), seeks to educate communities on the significant role of remittances in supporting Pakistan’s economy, discourage the use of informal remittance channels, and ensure the efficiency of fund transfers.
The first event of the programme took place in Mandi Bahauddin and was attended by senior officials from PRI. The roadshow will continue to roll out across various cities in Pakistan. Ziad Aftab Ejaz, Head of Global Home Remittance at Faysal Bank, emphasized the bank’s recognition of the challenges in promoting secure and lawful remittance channels, particularly the widespread use of informal methods due to limited awareness.
Through this programme, Faysal Bank aims to educate the public on the benefits of using formal, legal remittance systems, furthering the bank’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economy and ensuring safe and efficient financial transfers for overseas Pakistanis and their families. The programme is in line with Faysal Bank’s vision to enhance financial inclusion and contribute to national economic growth by providing reliable and secure remittance solutions, such as its Tez Tareen Remittance service.
The event featured interactive sessions and performance awards, recognizing families who use FBL’s remittance services. This initiative underscores the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable economic development while ensuring safe and efficient financial services for Pakistan’s expatriate community.
