Islamabad, Sep 3: Two more officers have been suspended by the Federal Board of Revenue in relation to the issuing of unauthorized reimbursements.
According to the notification, FBR suspended BS 18 officer Shiraza Hemeed and made BS 19 officer Saeeda Islam OSD in response to the Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation’s (Inland Revenue) complaint on the issuing of unauthorized refunds.
Inland Revenue Service officer Saeeda Islam, BS-19, is now assigned to the position of Commissioner-IR (OPS) (Refunds). With immediate effect and until further orders, the Regional Tax Office, Lahore (previously the Additional Commissioner-IR, Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore) is now made OSD and put at the disposal of the Admin Pool, Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad (stationed at Lahore).
In another instance, Ms. Shiraza Hameed, a BS-18 officer of the Inland Revenue Service currently posted as Deputy Commissioner-IR, Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore, was suspended from exercising her powers under Rule 5(1) of the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020, with immediate effect. This suspension will last for 120 days or until further orders, whichever comes first, following the receipt of a report from the DG, Directorate General of I & I (IR), Islamabad, regarding the issuance of an illegal refund
