Islamabad, Nov 1: FBR Tax Revenue Shortfall Rises to Rs. 192 Billion

In October 2024, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs. 878 billion, which is Rs. 102 billion less than the Rs. 980 billion target that was set.

During the first four months of 2024–25, FBR collected Rs. 3,440 billion, which is Rs. 196 billion less than the Rs. 3,636 billion target set for July–October of the current fiscal year.

Tax authorities have fallen short of their monthly tax target for the second consecutive month of the current fiscal year.

A shortfall of Rs. 230 billion is anticipated by the FBR Tax for the second quarter of 2024–2025 (October–December).

It’s important to remember that the Pakistani government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have agreed that, should revenue collection in the current fiscal year fail by 1% short of the target, seven new tax measures will be implemented in 2024–2025.
