Islamabad, Apr 22, 2025: In a significant move towards technological advancement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently welcomed a high-level team from the Chinese space innovation firm GalaxySpace, headed by its Chairman, Xu Ming.

The visit marked a key step in strengthening bilateral collaboration in the realm of space technology.

The Chinese delegation conveyed a strong interest in injecting investment into Pakistan’s emerging space sector.

Talks focused on broadening partnerships in multiple space-related areas such as satellite engineering, digital communication systems, and broadband internet delivered via satellite.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the national importance of upgrading Pakistan’s space capabilities and reaffirmed the country’s strategic alliance with China as a cornerstone of technological growth.

Emphasizing mutual benefit, both parties explored the potential for joint ventures between GalaxySpace and Pakistani space entities, including SUPARCO and leading telecom service providers.

The delegation expressed optimism about the opportunities that Pakistan presents in terms of infrastructure growth and technological cooperation.

The high-profile gathering was also attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima, and the Prime Minister’s Special Adviser Dr. Tauqir Shah.

Senior government officials including Secretary IT and Telecom Zarar Hashim, PTA Chairman Hafeez Rehman, and Member Telecom Muhammad Jahanzeb also participated in the discussions.

This visit marks a pivotal chapter in Pakistan-China technological relations, particularly in the aerospace sector.
