Islamabad, Jan 31: Government College University (GCU) Lahore has taken a significant step forward in higher education by introducing a PhD program in Public Policy.
This initiative, launched under the Institute of Economics, Policy, and Entrepreneurship, has received official approval from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Babar Aziz, confirmed that GCU has secured the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from HEC, paving the way for admissions to commence this year. According to Prof. Aziz, this PhD program is designed to produce top-tier scholars equipped with the skills necessary to navigate complex policy landscapes and drive impactful reforms.
The PhD in Public Policy will focus on evidence-based research, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving, preparing students to contribute effectively to government institutions, research organizations, and international policy-making bodies.
