ISLAMABAD, JULY20: The German Consulate in Karachi has announced the return of its visa services to the city. Due to security concerns, the German Consulate in Karachi had previously stopped its visa services. They have recently, however, declared that these services will be brought back. “For non-EU citizens, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi, has resumed normal operation,” the statement read on Friday.

It is important to note that Pakistanis are thought to prefer traveling to Germany. Pakistani nationals applied for visas to German missions in record numbers last year 19,095 more than those applied for in other Schengen nations.

11,630 of these applications were accepted, while 7,370 were rejected. Pakistan was one of the top 10 nationalities in Germany with the highest number of visa rejections in 2023 due to its high rejection rate.

A considerable amount of visa applications for other Schengen nations, such as Spain (18,482), Italy (12,390), the Netherlands (11,389), and France (8,225), were also filed by Pakistani nationals.Approximately 49.6% of the nearly 86,700 Pakistani visa applications for Schengen states that were processed were denied. Pakistan is now the fourth-highest country in terms of Schengen state visa application denials due to its high rejection rate.In addition, despite their high rejection rate in 2023, Pakistanis paid €3.3 million on visa applications the most of any nationality.
