Islamabad, Oct 9: Germany to Offer Technical Training Programs for Returning Overseas Pakistanis. A Pakistani-German Facilitation & Reintegration Centre (PGFRC) has been established in Lahore by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. An advice desk is located at the Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF) at the head office.
The goal, according to an official source, was to make it easier for Pakistanis living abroad to return to their home country by helping them learn the skills necessary for productive employment inside Pakistan’s social and economic framework. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is supporting its implementation, which is being carried out in association with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on technical assistance to the facilitation & reintegration center for Pakistani workers has been signed by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Overseas Pakistani Foundation, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development.
This initiative is helping to create more job opportunities/employability for Pakistani workers, which will improve economic development in the long run. The center offers a variety of services, including advice on training and skills development, technical and vocational training, advice on job market trends and opportunities, advice on finding a job in Pakistan, entrepreneurial and start-up support, psychosocial support and information on the health system in Pakistan, information on living conditions, and advice on obtaining microfinance and loans.
