Islamabad 13July: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday praised Germany’s initiatives in Pakistan aimed at promoting social development and democratic values during a meeting with a delegation from the German Parliament.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi underscored the significant contributions of Germany across various sectors in Pakistan, while expressing concerns over the challenging situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, attributing instability to interventions from neighboring Afghanistan.He recalled past operations against elements undermining Pakistan’s constitution and democratic system, aiming to restore public confidence amidst security challenges originating from across the border.
Highlighting the strategic benefits of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Governor Faisal Karim Kundi emphasized its potential to spur economic growth in the region through enhanced trade routes.Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that Germany is doing great work in Pakistan in many sectors.In 2013, the Governor said when there was a coalition government of the Peoples Party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, we conducted a successful operation against elements active against terrorism and resettled the people there.
He said that with the opening of the trade route through Wakhan, there will be economic development in KP province. Our leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed had built the Lowari Tunnel in Chitral to promote trade with Central Asia.Michael Müller, head of the German delegation, assured Governor Faisal Karim Kundi of Germany’s commitment to support socio-economic progress in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He pledged cooperation to mitigate cross-border interventions, recognizing Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism.Müller accepted Governor Kundi’s invitation to visit Peshawar and explore Gandhara heritage sites, emphasizing cultural preservation and tourism promotion.Ahmed Karim Kundi, Parliamentary Leader of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, hailed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a hub of Gandhara civilization and a center of diverse cultures, inviting German agencies to collaborate in tourism promotion and cultural preservation efforts.
He acknowledged German support for the restoration of ancient Hindu temples in Dera Ismail Khan and developmental projects facilitated by GIZ in the region.The visit concluded with mutual optimism for continued bilateral cooperation, aiming to foster peace, stability, and economic prosperity in the region.
