Islamabad, Feb 21: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that salaries and pensions for all government employees will be paid by February 28, 2025, ensuring financial convenience before the holy month of Ramadan.
According to an official notification from the KP Finance Department, early salary disbursement has been scheduled due to the upcoming official holidays on March 1 and 2. This step aims to facilitate employees, allowing them to manage their expenses ahead of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a strong possibility of the Ramadan 1446 AH moon being sighted on March 1, 2025. If the prediction holds true, the first fast is expected to be observed on Sunday, March 2.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a sacred period for Muslims worldwide. It is marked by fasting from dawn to sunset, promoting self-discipline, spiritual growth, and acts of charity. During this time, believers engage in increased prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, and charitable deeds to purify their souls and strengthen their connection with Allah.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to convene in Peshawar on February 28 to officially determine the sighting of the Ramadan moon. The committee’s decision will confirm the commencement of the holy month across the country.
By ensuring timely salary payments, the KP government aims to provide financial relief to employees, enabling them to prepare for Ramadan without financial strain.
