Islamabad, Apr 22, 2025: The citizens, civil society, and business sectors of Sialkot and its neighboring areas have voiced strong disapproval over the exclusion of Sialkot International Airport from the 2025 Hajj flight schedule.
As Pakistan’s first privately-operated international airport, Sialkot International has consistently represented innovation and efficiency, providing exceptional services, including seamless Hajj operations that have catered to thousands of pilgrims from the region.
Due to its prime location and cutting-edge infrastructure, the airport has become the preferred and dependable hub for pilgrims from districts such as Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Kharian, Lala Musa, and Mirpur (AJK).
The unexpected suspension of Hajj flights from this essential airport has caused widespread distress and difficulties.
Pilgrims now face longer journeys, higher expenses, and additional logistical challenges to reach other departure points.
This decision not only undermines logistics but also creates an unjust situation for the many pilgrims who have relied on Sialkot International Airport for a safe, accessible, and dignified Hajj journey.

It overlooks the airport’s established record of successfully handling Hajj flights with skill and professionalism.
However, Representing the Concerned Citizens of the Region, Chairman of Sialkot International Airport, Hassan Ali Bhatti, respectfully yet urgently calls upon the following distinguished leaders to reassess and reverse this decision in the public’s best interest:
-
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif
-
Chief Minister of Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif
-
Federal Minister for Aviation, Khawaja Muhammad Asif
-
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf
Reinstating Hajj operations at Sialkot International Airport is critical to providing fair access to pilgrimage services and easing the burdens placed on thousands of pilgrims.
Restoring Hajj flights from Sialkot is not just about convenience; it is about ensuring public service, upholding dignity, and protecting fundamental rights.
