Islamabad, 22 Apr , 2025: A team from M2P Consulting, featuring both local and global experts, has formally commenced work on a major digital transformation project at Pakistan’s key Airports to Get E-Gates.

The initiative will see e-gates installed at Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi airports, aimed at streamlining passenger clearance and boosting airport efficiency.

The project was officially launched during a visit by the consulting delegation to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) headquarters.

Prior to the signing, detailed technical and operational discussions took place, led by Sadiq ur Rehman, Deputy Director General of Airports, and Sumair Saeed, Deputy Director General of Works and Development.

A formal agreement was signed by Christophe Mostert, Managing Partner at M2P Consulting, and Kashif S. Jillani, Director of Engineering Services at the PAA.

This marks the beginning of a 24-month timeline that will cover every stage of the project from planning and design to final installation.

Under this collaboration, M2P will provide technical oversight and advisory support to ensure the project is executed efficiently. Contractors for the installation will be appointed through a transparent bidding process.

Among the top priorities discussed was the need to ensure the new Airports to Get E-Gates systems align with international standards, particularly those set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The integration with existing airport infrastructure and local agency protocols was also highlighted as a key component of successful implementation.

The e-gates, once operational, are expected to enhance passenger safety, reduce human error, and introduce a faster, more reliable automated border control process

This move aims to improve the overall travel experience while easing pressure on airport staff.

Progress has already been made, with surveys completed at Islamabad and Lahore airports, while the assessment at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport is scheduled to begin shortly.
