ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 10: In an effort to increase tourism in Murree, a new project has been started that center on the enlargement of the main roadway that links Rawalpindi, Murree, and Kashmir.
The project, which has a budget of about Rs. 1.2 billion, entails building a road that would run 17 kilometers from Rawalpindi to Sunny Bank in Murree.
The e-tender technology has been used to issue the construction work tenders, with August 17th being the deadline.
The building of the road will be done in six months in phases as part of the annual development program (ADP), with work starting concurrently from both ends. The idea calls for growing trees along the road to improve the natural environment of the region. Fruit trees and natural pine trees will be included in the selection, along with plants that give fruit that are emblematic of the Pothohar region’s culture.
Along the route, rest spaces for drivers are to be built, and energy-efficient street lighting will be provided by solar electricity.
