Islamabad, Mar 11, 2025: The dedicated cleaning teams at the Grand Mosque efficiently complete the entire cleaning process within just 35 minutes, ensuring a seamless experience for pilgrims without disrupting their comfort.

According to the General Authority responsible for the upkeep of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, a workforce of 3,500 male and female staff members is employed to maintain cleanliness around the clock.

These professionals are equipped with 12 advanced washing machines and 679 specialized cleaning tools to enhance efficiency.

Regarding waste disposal, over 3,000 waste bins are strategically placed both inside and outside the Grand Mosque.

These bins help manage and transport waste effectively, with an estimated 70 tons of waste collected daily.

During peak seasons, this volume rises to approximately 100 tons, with disposal methods designed to adhere to strict environmental standards.

The Authority emphasizes its commitment to sustainability by utilizing eco-friendly cleaning agents. Cleaning operations continue 24/7 without interfering with the movement of worshippers or pilgrims.

Their primary goal is to maintain a pristine spiritual environment, prioritizing the well-being and health of visitors.
