Islamabad, Apr 4, 2025: The heat in Lahore is steadily escalating, with the Meteorological Department forecasting temperatures to climb to 40°C next week.

Currently, the highest recorded temperature in Lahore is 34°C, while the present temperature is 31°C.

The heatwave is expected to intensify from Sunday onward, with no rainfall anticipated in the near future.

Meteorologists warn of a further increase in temperatures, urging the public to take necessary precautions against the rising heat.

A dry and warm air mass is dominating most of the country, contributing to the hot and arid conditions.

This Friday and Saturday, dry weather is expected to persist, with temperatures predicted to be 2 to 4°C higher than normal in Sindh and South Punjab over the next few days.

In the past 24 hours, dry conditions prevailed across much of the country, although light rain showers were recorded in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Pothohar region.

Rainfall totals included 6mm in Dir Upper, 1mm in Dir Lower, 5mm in Cherat, 3mm in Malam Jabba, 2mm in Kalam, and 1mm in Astore.

The highest temperatures recorded yesterday were 45°C in Mithi, 44°C in Shaheed Benazirabad, and 43°C in Tando Jam and Chhor.
