The Federal Higher Education Commission. approved a pay raise for university vice-chancellors. HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed presided over the 43rd meeting, where this decision was taken.
The meeting came to the conclusion that pay for vice-chancellors nationwide needed to be raised and standardized since they were too low. The new pay, which includes all allowances, will be equivalent to that of a tenure-track professor at Rs. 1 million.
Furthermore, the Transnational Policy 2024 was agreed at the meeting. According to this guideline, in order to admit students, 35 Pakistani universities and colleges connected to overseas universities must have a fresh No-Objection Certificate (NOC).Before opening admissions, these institutions need to form partnerships with universities that are in the top 700 in the world, get a NOC from their home nation, and then get a NOC from Pakistan.
