Islamabad, Aug 28: Rather than hiring ordinary lecturers, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opted to hire master’s degree holders as College Teacher Interns (CTIs), according to a study released on Wednesday.
With intentions to assign CTIs for a period of eight months, a summary has been presented for approval.
The hiring process is expected to start next month, and these interns would receive a monthly salary of Rs50,000.
However, the department will not be using the Public Service Commission to hire regular lecturers, which may provide difficulties for a large number of unemployed master’s degree holders.
