Islamabad, Dec 8: Honda has launched the third generation Amaze compact sedan in India and unveiled plans to broaden its lineup significantly. By FY 2026-2027, the automaker intends to introduce three new models featuring electric and strong hybrid powertrains, leveraging its e:HEV technology and a new Honda electric badge.

Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of Honda Cars India, outlined the company’s vision to address evolving customer preferences by balancing traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles with electrified options

. While details of the new models are yet to be disclosed, Honda aims to transition its lineup toward hybrids and fully electric vehicles.

Currently, Honda offers three models in India, including two sedans and one SUV.

The Honda City sedan, which features a strong hybrid option, has not achieved the anticipated success.

Speculations suggest one of the upcoming electric models may be based on the Honda Elevate SUV, aligning with the growing demand for EVs in India. With competitors like Tata Motors, MG Motor, Mahindra, and others gaining ground, Honda’s new launches aim to secure its position in this competitive market.
