ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 1: According to recent statistics from IDC, the foldable smartphone industry in China is flourishing, with sales tripling over the same period last year.
With its Mate X5 and Pocket 2 models, Huawei has made a clean sweep of the foldable market, accounting for roughly half of sales. These phones have satellite connection and processors built in China. Thanks to its svelte X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro models, which are equipped with the best Snapdragon processors, Vivo comes in second. These gadgets were made available shortly before the quarter officially began.
A total of 2.57 million foldable gadgets were sold between April and June of 2024. Although this is better than the first quarter of 2024 and the same time in the previous year, it is still not up to the record sales that were made at the end of 2023 over the Christmas season. Sales of foldable phones are predicted to soar once again this summer due to the increasing demand for them.
Huawei wants to increase its market share when the Nova Flip is released in the near future. Comparing this new foldable phone to previous Huawei clamshell models, the bigger outside screen will probably come at a lower cost.
