Islamabad, 25 April 2025: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), in collaboration with the Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO (PNCU), successfully concluded a five-day initiative.
Titled “Rehabilitation of Street Children through Football,” the camp was held from April 21 to 25, 2025. The event took place at the National Skills University (NSU), H-8/1 Islamabad.
The event brought together more than 60 children from underserved areas of the capital for a unique blend of football training, emotional support, medical check-ups, and life skills development.

The initiative was designed to promote social reintegration, healthy lifestyles, and informal education for vulnerable youth.
The closing ceremony, hosted at NSU, was attended by Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, as Chief Guest.
She was joined by a number of renowned civil society members, educationists, community leaders, and international partners.
The honorable Minister of State appreciated the efforts of PNCU for arranging such a wonderful event. focusing on the vulnerable and marginalized segments of the society.

The Secretary General Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO& ICESCO, Mr.Aftab Muhammad Khan stated that sports is a great enabler and impacts other Sustainable Development Goals.
He thanked government patronage, ICESCO and partners for their support. He also thanked the MOS for sparing precious time and DG NCHD.
To him holding of the event is a classic example of team work, gender equality, social inclusion, character building and empowerment.
He advised the children to keep learning, keep playing and never stop believing in your dreams.
This camp stands as a model for inclusive youth development, reaffirming Pakistan’s and ICESCO’s commitment to education, empowerment, and hope — one goal at a time.
