Today’s National Championship of Final Year Projects Prize Distribution Ceremony, sponsored by the National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative (NGIRI), honored undergraduate students for their outstanding accomplishments in ICT-related fields.

The NGIRI program, which was established in 2012, has played a significant role in advancing grassroots innovation, research, and development by offering financial support to outstanding Final Year Projects (FYP) from both public and private sector universities.

Up to now, the NGIRI program has disbursed Rs. 384.24 million, funding an astounding 7,115 FYPs. The country is moving toward a more promising and technologically advanced future thanks to this program, which has encouraged a creative and technical environment among young people.

The main guest for the event was Secretary of IT & Telecom, Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood. He praised the kids’ achievements and stressed the value of creativity in moving the nation forward in his speech.

“The National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative has proven instrumental in utilizing our youth’s creative potential,” the speaker stated. By sponsoring their creative initiatives, we are laying the groundwork for a technologically advanced Pakistan in addition to promoting a culture of research and development. These youngsters’ outstanding accomplishments are proof of the promising future our country has ahead of us.

The audience was also addressed by Mr. Adeel Aijaz Shaikh, CEO of Ignite, who emphasized the program’s influence on the ICT industry. He said: “A key component in encouraging grassroots innovation and growth has been the NGIRI program. We are investing in the future executives of our ICT sector by giving these exciting projects financial support. The success stories we honor today are a testament to our students’ diligence and commitment as well as the steadfast support of our academic institutions and business partners.

The awarding of prizes to the top-performing projects, which acknowledged their exceptional contributions to the ICT field, marked the conclusion of the ceremony.The occasion provided a forum for exhibiting the creative solutions that the students had come up with, highlighting the significance of encouraging a culture of research and development at the local level.
