Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, visited the Chinese Consulate General Office and held discussions with Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren. Alongside IG Punjab were DIG Special Protection Unit Muntazer Mehdi, DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran, and CTO Amara Athar. The meeting primarily centered on addressing security issues concerning Chinese citizens, engineers, experts, and business delegations in Punjab.
Dr. Usman Anwar stressed the Punjab Police’s commitment to prioritizing the safety of Chinese experts and residents. He highlighted the Special Protection Unit’s (SPU) vigilant efforts in ensuring the security of Chinese citizens and experts throughout the province. Additionally, Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the implementation of enhanced security measures, including increased patrolling by Punjab Police and the Punjab Highway Patrol team along routes frequented by Chinese citizens. He also mentioned the heightened security arrangements for the residences, offices, and workplaces of Chinese citizens.
