Another factor contributing to the delay is the revision of first-year results, following the application of grace marks, which caused inconsistencies in student records.
Additionally, the absence of chairpersons at both the Karachi and Hyderabad education boards has significantly slowed down the approval of exam timetables and logistical arrangements for the centers.
A senior representative from the Universities and Boards Department stated that the overlapping use of school facilities for both matric and intermediate exams is a logistical issue.
Without the completion of matric exams, the authorities cannot reassign venues for intermediate use.
This delay is compounded by the lack of permanent board leadership, stalling decisions across several administrative fronts.
Originally, as per the Steering Committee of the Sindh Education Department, matric exams were to begin on March 15 and Inter Exams Postponed on April 8.
However, concerns raised by private school associations, particularly about students appearing for exams during Ramadan, prompted rescheduling. Consequently, matric exams were pushed to April 8 (post-Eid), and intermediate exams to April 28.
Now, with further delays, students are once again bracing for exams during scorching summer temperatures, which raises concerns about health, performance, and further impact on academic progression.
