Islamabad, Oct 3: In response to the increasing threat of dengue in Islamabad, the district administration has launched a citywide operation to enforce anti-dengue protocols, focusing on business centers, industries, and construction sites.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has warned businesses and industries to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, especially stagnant water, which is a primary source for dengue larvae.
Multiple arrests have been made for violations of these protocols, with 16 individuals detained for non-compliance. Assistant Commissioners have led raids in various sectors, including I-11, I-9, and G-8, and targeted hotspots like construction sites and educational institutions.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has instructed authorities to intensify operations, warning of severe consequences for further violations.
Businesses and residents are urged to cooperate fully to prevent the spread of dengue by adhering to the SOPs, such as removing stagnant water and using preventive measures like mosquito repellents.
