Islamabad, Feb 26: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently toured the “Asan Khidmat” center in Baku, a state-of-the-art service hub offering more than 400 facilities under one roof. Impressed by its streamlined operations and technological advancements, he expressed a keen interest in replicating this model in Islamabad to enhance public service delivery in Pakistan.
During his visit, he praised Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev for spearheading such an efficient initiative. He also explored the INNOLAND startup center, where young entrepreneurs are driving innovation. Acknowledging that Pakistan already has similar service centers in Punjab and other cities, the prime minister noted that Baku’s facility excels in scale and technological sophistication.

To bring a comparable system to Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to launch a pilot project in Islamabad, leveraging the best practices observed in Baku. He extended an invitation to Azerbaijani experts to visit Pakistan and collaborate on implementing this model.
Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation, briefed the prime minister on the center’s role in providing transparent and efficient public services. He highlighted the innovative mobile service units, including customized buses and a service train, designed to bring essential government facilities directly to communities, ensuring accessibility for all.
Following his engagements in Baku, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Tashkent to continue his official diplomatic mission. His visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to adopting global best practices for improving governance and public service efficiency.
