Islamabad, Apr 4, 2025: In a decisive move to enhance road safety and discipline, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), under the leadership of Chief Traffic Officer Syed Zeeshan Haider, has initiated an extensive crackdown targeting one-wheelers, reckless riders.
Motorcyclists operating without silencers. This initiative aims to address the growing concerns over traffic violations and ensure a secure environment for all road users in the capital.
During the recent Eid-ul-Fitr festivities, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) intensified its enforcement efforts. Over 1,700 motorcyclists were penalized for various infractions, including one-wheeling and operating vehicles without proper silencers.

More than 500 motorcycles were impounded across different police stations, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to curbing such violations.
The operation also led to legal actions against 24 individuals engaged in one-wheeling and nine riders of heavy motorcycles lacking silencers. These measures reflect the ITP’s zero-tolerance policy towards activities that jeopardize public safety.
Additionally, the Eid holidays saw an influx of approximately 2.5 million vehicles entering Islamabad, with around 75,000 vehicles proceeding to Murree via the capital.
Despite the high traffic volume, the ITP ensured the smooth flow of vehicles, facilitating both residents and tourists.
To maintain a family-friendly atmosphere during the celebrations, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) enforced regulations allowing only families to access public parks. This measure aimed to prevent rowdy behavior and ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors.

CTO Syed Zeeshan Haider emphasized that individuals involved in one-wheeling and other disruptive activities pose significant risks to public safety and would face strict legal actions.
The operation’s success was largely attributed to the dedicated efforts of over 500 ITP officers, who were strategically deployed to key locations to monitor and manage traffic effectively.
Their vigilance ensured that no major incidents occurred during the festive period, contributing to the overall safety and security of the city.
CTO Haider expressed gratitude to the citizens for their cooperation and reiterated the ITP’s commitment to serving and protecting the community.

Previous initiatives have included actions against underage drivers, motorcyclists without helmets, and vehicles with unauthorized number plates.
