Islamabad, 21 April 2025: Islamabad United’s fast bowling consultant, Rumman Raees, has temporarily stepped aside from his PSL 2025 duties following the passing of his sister.

Islamabad United defeated Karachi Kings by four wickets with 17 balls to spare while chasing 129 in their recent game in Karachi.

Due to the bereavement, Rumman will not be accompanying the team in their upcoming fixture against Multan Sultans, scheduled for April 23 in Multan.

However, team officials remain hopeful that he may rejoin the squad ahead of their April 30 clash with Lahore Qalandars in Lahore.

Despite his absence, Islamabad United continues to dominate the tournament, with winning all their matches.

Under the captaincy of Shadab Khan, the team has maintained a perfect record, winning all four of their matches and topping the points table with eight points.

Sahibzada Farhan and Azam Khan provided a solid start, putting on 34 runs before Farhan was dismissed by Hasan Ali for a quickfire 30 off 18 deliveries, which included five boundaries and a six.

In the same over, right-arm pacer Hasan struck again to remove in-form batter Colin Munro for just four runs.

Shadab Khan entered at number four and built a vital 65-run stand with Azam Khan to guide the innings on a tricky pitch.

The wicket-keeper batter contributed 31 off 30 balls before being dismissed by Mohammad Nabi in the 14th over.

Shadab anchored the innings with a commanding 47 off 40 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. He was dismissed by Abbas Afridi in the 17th over.

The three-times champions will now aim to continue their winning momentum in the absence of their bowling consultant.
