Islamabad, Feb 17: Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, recently conducted an extensive five-day 5G training program for officials from the Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) at the Jazz-NUST 5G Innovation Lab. This initiative reflects Jazz’s commitment to preparing key stakeholders for the future of connectivity, equipping them with the knowledge and expertise needed to regulate and implement emerging technologies effectively.

Running from February 10 to February 14, the training covered a comprehensive range of critical 5G topics, including end-to-end (E2E) network evolution, air interface technologies, multi-frequency network optimization, radio network performance management, RAN network slicing, and real-world applications. Special focus was given to spectrum planning and network optimization, key components in Pakistan’s digital transformation journey.

Speaking about the initiative, Jazz Chief Technology Officer Khalid Shehzad stated, “Jazz remains committed to driving Pakistan’s digital future through collaboration and knowledge-sharing. This training strengthens industry-academia-government linkages, ensuring informed decision-making and accelerating 5G adoption.”

Since its establishment in December 2022, the Jazz-NUST 5G Innovation Lab has been at the forefront of Pakistan’s 5G preparedness, serving as a hub for research, training, and technological advancement. The lab has played a pivotal role in fostering innovation, hosting initiatives like Pakistan’s first 5G Hackathon and industry training programs.

By bridging the gap between academia, industry, and regulatory bodies, Jazz continues to lay the groundwork for Pakistan’s transition to next-generation connectivity, unlocking new opportunities across various sectors and driving the nation toward a digitally empowered future.
